The TaylorMade Tour Preferred CB Ironsboast the highest MOI of the three 2011 TP irons. It is a multi-material forged cavityback design, with a two-piece head. The TPCB's advanced construction combines a forged face with a cast body. The undercut cavity delivers the forgiveness of a deep cavityback, whilst producing the pure feel of a forged iron. The Inverted Cone Technology (the only iron of the three with ICT) promotes faster ball speed on off-centre hits, and helps make the TaylorMade Tour Preferred CB Irons extremely forgiving for consistent distance with every club.
The TaylorMade Tour Preferred CB feature a forged face with a cast, undercut cavity, promoting a pure forged feel with the forgiveness of a traditional cavity back iron. The TaylorMade Tour Preferred MC Irons are forged from 1025 carbon steel and feature a compact, shallow cavity that provides incredible feel, feedback, and shot-shaping capability along with added stability on off-center hits. Precise swing-weights are achieved through a precision-weighting port which also ensure optimal Center of Gravity locations in each club, while its advanced groove design promotes improved spin and control from the rough.

The TaylorMade Tour Preferred MC is the only model that can be purchased with graphite shafts, though the standard is the new, lightweight 110-gram True Temper Dynamic Gold XP steel shaft. Not only is this new shaft considerably lighter than the standard Dynamic Gold, it also promotes a higher ball flight. As mentioned, there is a graphite shaft option which comes custom for this set from Fujikura. Two flex profiles will be available, a 90-gram stiff flex and an 80-gram regular flex.
